Finished my first bag since getting my industrial Finished my first bag since getting my industrial back together. I am just doing a few test runs to get in the swing of sewing with it again. Then off to finish up a few projects once we are tuned up and feeling good. For this bag I used vinyl, d rings, zip and interior materials from what I had on hand. I have a small section left of this red and might make a wallet to match.

I’ve always loved making bags. When I was vegan I used vinyls to create a nice sturdy bag. At the time I worked at a fabric store and could easily get my hands on unique & quality vinyls. I have just a few small remnants of those left over and feel a bit inspired to pull those out to play with more bag designs.
I do enjoy this one. I love the oversized d rings I had lying around from my vegan bag making days. I found some oversized clips to compliment. I also have never tried a recessed zip like this before either.

I think the reason I have always loved bag making is that my drafting/designing process is much like the weaving process for me. A real basic idea going in and just going with the moment of making as we progress. And being just as surprised with the outcome when it’s finished.

Also anyone else that agrees fire engine red is a neutral? 🚒

Gosh, I really forget how time consuming knitting Gosh, I really forget how time consuming knitting is sometimes. I’m so glad I stuck with this one. I love the raglan sleeves & sleeve shape. As well as the collar & belt loops. For my first top down, though plain, I am happy with this make.

I’ve been determined to use what I can from my knitting yarns. I have started three different tops in the last couple months and now in a stand still with a few to figure where to go with them. Whether it is knitting or sewing, I’m usually always in an improv state of mind throughout my process to figure out how to best utilize what’s on hand. I didn’t have enough of this yarn and despite it being discontinued I tracked down another couple skeins to finish this up. With just enough for a knitted belt I’m still working on. Didn’t stop me from trying this on.
So, do I cast on in another color?

Also while I was making this I got this hand dyed speckled bandana from @hopey_lyn in the third photo. Thought it would go well with this pine green wool.🎄

Despite the hand knit tops I started this month th Despite the hand knit tops I started this month that all await finishing until I track down a skein or two. I did get these socks finished that I started 6 years ago. A speckly créme de menthe merino and me made jeans🧃
