Me Made Fashion

Made this quick little dress yesterday. Wish I had Made this quick little dress yesterday. Wish I had made it in fall but black is always useful? Fabric I already had from my fabric store working days. You can slightly see the texture to it that also has a tonal floral print to it. I love the v shaped front and back neckline for turtle necks and large collars. Second hand linen/cotton top and my favorite second hand belt. After my first fitting, I instantly felt I needed another spring/summer color of this as well. Then I saw the second photo online today from New York City in 1968 and knew yeah a couple more colors and maybe a shorter version too. I understand pinafores now 🐚

Mini shibori & quilted duffle bag. This was a dye Mini shibori & quilted duffle bag. This was a dye that was suppose to be mauve and ended up this bright candy pink. Dyeing is always a surprise. I do love that it ended up speckling heavy despite the dye being mixed prior to adding to the fabric. Which these variants may have happened compared to my other shibori dyes due to using old thrifted dye.

I also have been using up this large amount of paper white duck cloth my grandma had for these shibori dyes. Its an odd width, like originally a 55” width that someone sliced down the center lengthwise. Felt was used in place of batting again. And I’m still enjoying quilting up duffle bags. So maybe I might have to start giving away some of these because I still don’t have a better idea of how to use all these odd materials than in one textile experiment 🛍

My first hand knit sweater in over 10 years. Not p My first hand knit sweater in over 10 years. Not perfect but has pockets, texture and it’s an obnoxious color. I think it’ll fit in my me made wardrobe. Yarn I already had and used second hand buttons. Shirt & jeans me made as well. 🫐

Everything me made besides my boots & the button down sweater I’ve had since I was 14.
